First, let me begin by explaining who I am and why I decided to start this blog. My name is Jordan Thomas, I am 22, and I just finished my Undergraduate Degree in Honors History at McMaster University this year. Sounds awfully impressive. I almost feel important. Enough of the boring bio though, lets move on.
The most pertinent piece of information is that I love music. All types of music. I appreciate the art in all forms, if it is pleasing to my ear, if it makes me want to move, or maybe even take off my clothes, I will put that song on repeat despite the heat I may take from innocent bystanders. I have named this blog "Currently On Repeat" which reflects the new song or songs I am currently listening to over and over again. This could be a rap song from the dirty south, a rock song with a lot of screaming or maybe even a Lady GaGa song. Anything is up for grabs, if I hear it, like it, and the song ends up on repeat, I will be posting it on this blog so anyone interested can enjoy the new music that is being produced by the extremely saturated music industry.
The Game - It Must Be Me ft. Pharrell: So, the very first song I will post about is a new song that was released by West Coast rapper 'The Game' on April 27. The track is called "It Must Be Me" and features The Neptunes artist Pharrell.
Why I like this song: The beat on this song is very catchy, it has a very smooth, methodical, yet warm feel to it. It makes me want to drive around in my car, windows down, with it blasting for the world to hear. This is a summer song, and the first single off The Game's upcoming album, The R.E.D. Album. The album is to be released on June 15, 2010 on Interscope Records. Although the hook on this track seems weak at first, after a few spins I was sold.

B.o.B - Airplanes, Pt. II ft. Hayley Williams of Paramore & Eminem: This is the song I had on repeat yesterday! The track is off of B.o.B's debut album "The Adventures of Bobby Ray" which was released Tuesday, April 27/2010. The song includes a verse by Eminem and is otherwise the same as the original song, Airplanes.
Why I like this song: The chorus on this song is both meaningful and catchy. Hayley Williams angelic voice allows this song to transcend to addictive new heights. The fluidity of B.o.B's words, combined with the powerful lyrics give this track the necessary depth to earn it a click of the repeat button. The menacing verse by Eminem works to reinforce the integrity of the track and makes it a track you have to put on repeat.
That's all for today.
